أثار نادي ويستهام يونايتد المنافس في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز لكرة القدم جدلاً واسعاً بعد الطريقة التي أعلن بها عن رحيل لاعبه ديكلان رايس إلى أرسنال.
وأعلن ويستهام السبت 15 يوليو/تموز 2023 عبر حسابه الرسمي على موقع التواصل الاجتماعي “تويتر” رحيل رايس عن النادي دون أن يشير إلى اسم الفريق الذي ذهب إليه.

واكتفى ويستهام بنشر تغريدة قال فيها: “يمكننا تأكيد مغادرة ديكلان رايس للنادي”، فيما تجاهل باقي التفاصيل التي تُعد مهمة للغاية.
وأصبح تصرف النادي اللندني مثار تساؤل حول السبب الذي دفعه لذلك، لتكشف صحيفة mirror البريطانية الحقيقة، وقالت: “قام ويستهام بتوديع ديكلان رايس لكن النادي عبّر عن استيائه بوضوح من الطريقة التي تمت بها الصفقة”.
وعلى الرغم من رحيل رايس إلى أرسنال في صفقة قياسية بلغت 105 ملايين جنيه إسترليني إلا أنه لم تكن هناك أي إشارة إلى “الغانرز”.
ومرت الصفقة بمرحلة طويلة من المفاوضات بين ويستهام وأرسنال بعد انسحاب مانشستر سيتي، حامل لقب الدوري الإنجليزي في آخر موسمين، من السباق على ضم اللاعب.
وحسب “ميرور” فإن أرسنال وويستهام اتفقا على الخطوط العريضة للصفقة في أواخر يونيو/حزيران 2023 لكن إتمامها بشكل نهائي تأخر لمدة أسبوعين.
في تلك الفترة حاول أرسنال تغيير المقابل المادي بعد اتفاقه مع رايس على الشروط الشخصية، وهو ما أغضب ويست هام وفق “ميرور”.
وكان الاستياء واضحاً في معسكر ويستهام خلال الأيام الماضية خاصة بعد تصريحات المدرب الاسكتلندي ديفيد مويس.
وخلال حديثه في المؤتمر الصحفي الذي سبق سفر ويستهام إلى أستراليا، أبدى مويس استياءه من سير العملية؛ وهو ما أثر سلباً على خططه في سوق الانتقالات الصيفية.
وقال مويس: “لا يمكننا التخطيط لأي شيء في الوقت الراهن حتى تتم الصفقة (رايس إلى أرسنال)، الجميع يعرف الوضع. أعتقد أنكم (الصحافة) قلتم إن الأمر تم قبل أسبوعين، لكن حتى الآن لم يحدث شيء”.

في هذه الأثناء أصدر رايس بياناً عاطفياً شكر فيه جماهير ويستهام على دعمهم وتشجيعهم طوال فترة وجوده في النادي، معترفاً في الوقت ذاته بصعوبة اللعب ضد النادي مستقبلاً.
وقال رايس: “لست متأكداً حتى الآن كيف سأشعر حين ألعب أمامكم، لكني متأكد أنكم ستتفهمون وتحترمون جميعاً أن ولائي المهني يجب أن يكون الآن لفريقي الجديد”.

كما حصد جائزة أفضل لاعب في النادي في موسم 2019-2020 بينما تُوج بلقب دوري المؤتمر الأوروبي بموسم 2022-2023 بعد الفوز على فيورنتينا في النهائي بنتيجة 2-1.
