غادر اللاعب محمود داوود نجم شتوتغارت الألماني، بعثة المنتخب السوري الذي تنتظره مواجهة اليوم الثلاثاء 26 مارس/آذار ضد منتخب ميانمار في التصفيات المشتركة لكأس العالم وكأس آسيا القادمين.

الاتحاد السوري لكرة القدم نشر بياناً صحفياً قبل ساعات من لقاء ميانمار أكد فيه أنّ محمود داوود غادر معسكر منتخب سوريا صباح اليوم، مبيناً أنّ السبب هو استحالة تلبية طلباته.
وجاء في البيان الذي نشره الاتحاد على حسابه الرسمي على “إنستغرام”: “غادر اللاعب محمود داوود مقر بعثة منتخب سوريا الأول في مدينة الخبر السعودية صباح اليوم بسبب استحالة تلبية طلباته التي نقلها لنا وكيل أعماله، والتي ستؤثر على المنتخب الوطني الأول”.
وتابع الاتحاد في بيانه: “إدارة المنتخب تؤكد أنّ مصلحة منتخب سوريا تأتي في المقام الأول، وأنه سيتم وضع الشارع الرياضي بكافة التفاصيل في وقت لاحق”.

وكانت قائمة المدرب الأرجنتيني هيكتور كوبر شهدت وجود نجم نادي شتوتغارت الحالي وبرايتون وبروسيا دورتموند السابق، اللاعب محمود داوود لأول مرة، وذلك عقب إعطاء موافقته للعب للمنتخب بعد سنوات من التفاوض.

بدأ داوود مسيرته الرياضية بنادي دوسلدورف الألماني للناشئين، قبل أن ينتقل إلى بروسيا مونشنغلادباغ وتدرجه في الفئات العمرية بالنادي وحتى وصوله إلى الفريق الأول؛ حيث كان ظهوره الأول مع الفريق في بطولة كأس آودي الودية.
وانتقل داوود في عام 2017 إلى دورتموند مقابل 12 مليون يورو، قادماً من مونشنغلادباخ، الذي قضى فيه 7 سنوات تنقل فيها بين فريق الناشئين والفريق الثاني، ثم الفريق الأول.
وقبل انتقاله إلى دورتموند كان اللاعب السوري في خطط نادي مانشستر سيتي الإنجليزي الذي كان يسعى لاستقطابه، برغبة من المدير الفني لفريق مانشستر سيتي بيب غوارديولا.
لكن دورتموند استطاع خطفه ليلعب الدور نفسه الذي كان يلعبه صانع ألعاب الفريق، إلكاي غوندوغان الذي انتقل إلى مانشستر سيتي حينها.

وفي 2023 أصبح محمود داوود أول لاعب سوري الأصل يلعب في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز لكرة القدم “بريميرليغ”، مع إعلان نادي برايتون الإنجليزي تعاقده معه في عقد يمتد 4 مواسم.
ولكن مسيرته مع برايتون لم تستمر طويلاً، عندما قرر محمود داوود الانتقال إلى نادي شتوتغارت الألماني على سبيل الإعارة، فيما أشار ثالث الدوري الألماني في بيان إلى أن لديه خيار شراء عقد اللاعب البالغ 28 عاماً بعد نهاية فترة الإعارة.
يُذكر أن داوود، الذي يلعب كخط وسط مهاجم، فاز مع منتخب ألمانيا للشباب 2017، بكأس أمم أوروبا لكرة القدم تحت 21 عاماً.
وُلد داوود الذي يحمل الجنسية الألمانية في مدينة عامودا بمحافظة الحسكة، شمالي سوريا عام 1996، قبل انتقاله رفقة أسرته إلى ألمانيا واستقرارهم هناك.
ويلتقي منتخب سوريا مساء اليوم الثلاثاء منتخب ميانمار في إياب الدور الأول من التصفيات المؤهلة إلى كأس العالم وكأس آسيا، على استاد الأمير محمد بن فهد في مدينة الدمام السعودية، وكان المنتخبان قد تعادلا ذهاباً بهدف لكل منهما.
