كشف لاعب كرة القدم أولكسندر زينتشينكو، مدافع أرسنال الإنجليزي، أنه مستعد لإيقاف مسيرته الكروية والذهاب إلى بلده أوكرانيا من أجل القتال هناك في حال تم استدعاؤه.

مدافع أرسنال، البالغ من العمر 27 عاماً، والذي تبرع بمليون جنيه إسترليني للمجهود الحربي لبلاده منذ بدء الحرب مع روسيا عام 2022، قال إن أصدقاء طفولته منذ أيام الدراسة جميعهم ذهبوا للقتال مع الجيش الأوكراني ضد روسيا.
وفي ردّ على سؤال خلال استضافته في برنامج إخباري على قناة BBC البريطانية، حول ما إذا كان جاهزاً لتطبيق القرار الجديد الذي أصدرته السلطات في بلاده حول التعبئة العامة قائلاً: “أعتقد أن إجابتي واضحة، سأذهب للقتال مباشرة”.
تصريحات زينتشينكو جاءت في الوقت الذي أعلن فيه رئيس أوكرانيا فولوديمير زيلينسكي أن كييف ستضطر إلى تعبئة نصف مليون جندي إضافي لمواصلة الحرب.
كما كان قد أصدر الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي، الثلاثاء الماضي، قانوناً يخفِّض سن التعبئة العسكرية في البلاد من 27 إلى 25 عاماً، بحسب ما أكده البرلمان الأوكراني على موقعه الإلكتروني على الإنترنت.
وأضاف: “من الصعب أن نفهم أنني وأصدقائي كنا في نفس المدرسة مؤخراً، وكنا نلعب في ساحة المدرسة أو في ملعب كرة القدم معاً، والآن يتعين عليهم الدفاع عن بلدنا، وأنا ما زلت ألعب هنا”.
وتابع: “بصراحة، من الصعب جداً قبول ذلك، ولكن هذا هو ما هو عليه الأمر، لا يمكننا أن نستسلم”.
كما كشف زينتشينكو أنه في الوقت الحالي لا يتحدث إلى زملائه الروس السابقين، لكنه في الوقت ذاته يتفهم الموقف الصعب الذي يعيشونه.
وقال: “منذ الغزو لم يرسل لي سوى عدد قليل جداً من الرسائل النصية وأرسلوا لي بعض الرسائل، ولا أستطيع أن ألومهم لأن هذا هو ما يحدث”.
وأضاف اللاعب الذي شارك في 60 مباراة دولية مع المنتخب الأوكراني: “إنه ليس خطأهم، لا أستطيع أن أقول لهم: يا شباب قوموا بالاحتجاج في الخارج، وكل هذه الأشياء، لأنني أعلم أنه يمكن وضعهم في السجن”.
وتابع: “لن ننسى أبداً ما فعلوه بنا وبشعبنا، وهذا ما سأعلمه لأطفالي أيضاً، وسوف يعلم أطفالي أطفالهم”.
ويذكر أنّ أولكسندر زينتشينكو قد بدأ مسيرته الاحترافية باللعب مع نادي أوفا الروسي، قبل أن ينتقل نادي مانشستر سيتي الإنجليزي في 2016 والذي لعب معه لمدة سنوات، أعير في إحداها إلى آيندهوفن الهولندي، قبل أن يبيعه بشكل نهائي في عام 2022 إلى أرسنال، في صفقة انتقال بقيمة 30 مليون جنيه إسترليني.
